Last week I mainly worked on drawing concept art for a game. I did not have any issues. Next week I plan on finishing the piece up and then starting more pages for my story.

The Logo is their biggest problem. Basically I’m going to change it. Starting with the logo, they had a Die in the background with letters across it, so I will keep that basic design they had. I will edit it though, by changing the font yet keeping the feel of their store. I will keep a solid color or two to be consistent with the design. I will drop the gradient and shadow effects immediately. Basically there won’t be an easy way to tell whether more people visit due to a couple design changes but increased sales or visits may help distinguish it.

The marketing is bad. That’s as blunt as I can put it. Their Logo and sign are pretty not good as in the colors don’t mix all too well, the design is cluttered and gives me a headache even considering how simple it is. I didn’t even notice a T in the logo and I bet you didn’t either. There’s a half stroke thing going on like it’s trying to look like a shadow or something while having this white gradient to border each letter at the same time.

Although the design choices are overly questionable, the store seems to have a good name for itself. It has a WOW factor for good and bad reasons, luckily I already went over the bad. It has about 220 reviews, all of which add to an average of 4.8 stars. People seem to be satisfied with the service. It does not seem to target a center demographic, More on the lines of whoever is interested in the products.

The Business I am doing is “Beyond the Board” Which is a game and hobby shop located in Dublin Ohio.

This week I worked on some art pieces, a poster, and a wip I plan to finalize next week. I also worked on my Capstone Presentation and presented to a judge which I believe went very well. I did not have any issues other than maybe a little stress. I completed what I needed to this week and next week other than finals I’ll be able to relax a bit and work on simpler stuff. This week I mainly worked on my BPA Project. I also drew some concept art. I created a poster, a logo, and pin design for the local competition. I did not have many issues other than distractions thinking about a few things outside of school. I stayed on top and was fairly productive.
